Marine-themed Day to Make Waves at The Gardens Mall

Marinelife Day and Shop & Share at The Gardens Mall to benefit Loggerhead Marinelife Center, educate public

For the fifth year in a row, Loggerhead Marinelife Center will partner with The Gardens Mall to provide turtle lovers with an interactive afternoon at Marinelife Day at The Gardens Mall on Saturday, Aug. 20. The free exhibition, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Grand Court of The Gardens Mall, will spotlight sea turtles and ocean conservation.

With a special appearance by LMC’s mascot, Fletch, interactive children’s labs, and shows and activities that highlight the conservation, rehabilitation and research work carried out at Loggerhead Marinelife Center – plus chances to win exciting prizes – Marinelife Day is perfect for the whole family. Little “hatchlings” will also be able to enjoy LMC programs including Vet for a Day, Living Beaches, Conservation Corner, Hatchling Tales and much more.

Of course, the fun doesn’t stop there. LMC will also announce winners of LMC’s second annual Juno Beach Pier Photo Contest, a community photography contest powered by Facebook and Instagram.

Additionally, The Gardens Mall will host a Shop & Share, donating a percentage of the day’s total logged shopping receipts to Loggerhead Marinelife Center.  At Marinelife Day, participants can contribute to Ocean Conservation and Sea Turtle Rehabilitation in these two “fintastic” ways:

  • Mention Loggerhead Marinelife Center when you show your receipts at the Information Desk and LMC will receive five percent of the day’s total logged receipts (up to $100,000)
  •  Shop at one or more of the stores (Lily Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, California Pizza Kitchen and J. McLaughlin) participating in the additional “Shop & Share” that individually contributes to LMC
