Spend the night with sea turtles this January 26

Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) is launching its first-ever Sea Turtle Sleepover on Saturday, Jan. 26.

LMC’s Sea Turtle Sleepover is an exclusive nighttime program for children between the ages of 8-12, that includes a tour of LMC’s Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital, activities for aspiring scientists, movie time, snacks and pizza, and concludes with a little shuteye among the aquariums.

“We are very excited to offer this immersive experience for children who are interested in sea turtles and ocean conservation,” said Caroline Tapley, science educator at LMC.

The Sea Turtle Sleepover is a drop-off, sleep away program, and parent/chaperone attendance is optional. If a parent/chaperone chooses to attend, their attendance is required for the duration of the program. Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages, however LMC requests that all beverages be in reusable containers.

The program cost is $45 per child. Parent/chaperone attendance is optional, however, it is an additional $10 for each adult who attends. Participants should arrive at the Center at 7 p.m., and the program ends at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27. LMC staff and security will be on site for the duration of the program.

Sea Turtle Sleepover Highlights:

  • Bioluminescence Lab in our Outdoor Learning Lab
  • Tour to meet LMC’s sea turtle patients and scavenger hunt
  • Pizza, snacks, and a light breakfast
  • Ocean-themed movie
