Giving Tuesday — Meet Buoy

Buoy is a juvenile Green Sea Turtle that was found floating and entangled in fishing line at Dubois Park, FL, on October 13. Bouy presented with Fibropapilloma (FP), a condition that results in large tumors on the soft tissue of the turtle including flippers and eyes.

Buoy’s case of FP was severe, and our amazing veterinary staff was quick to formulate a treatment plan that has maximized healing and minimized stress. Two surgeries have been performed on the turtle in a staged, slow fashion with one remaining.

Unfortunately, cases like these are not rare. Green Sea Turtles are most commonly and severely infected with FP. Without continued support from our donors, LMC would be unable to treat patients like Bouy. Every turtle counts, and every donation helps make a difference.

Today is Giving Tuesday, the global day for radical generosity built upon shared humanity. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to LMC and help support our mission. Whether you can give $1 or $1000, LMC and our Sea Turtle Patients thank you!
