Public Sea Turtle Release at Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Juno Beach, Fla. (March 7, 2023) – Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) will be holding its second public sea turtle release of the year on Thursday, March 9. A 212-pound adult male loggerhead sea turtle named Nemo (pictured above) will be released at 10:30 a.m. on the beach located behind the Center.
Nemo was recovered at the St. Lucie Power Plant on December 20 after he was found floating in the St. Lucie intake canal with the tip of his flipper partially amputated. His injury was most likely caused by a boat strike. Nemo was transported to the sea turtle hospital at LMC for treatment, where he received 10 weeks of rehabilitation and care.

More Information: Please arrive at 10 a.m. The turtle will be promptly released at 10:30 a.m. LMC advises guests to wear sun protection: a hat, cool clothing, and sunscreen, and to bring a reusable water bottle.
