Green turtle (Chelonia mydas) (CM 23-2345)
Darth Vader is a juvenile green caught in Hollywood, FL. Radiographs showed 2 hooks, 1 in mouth and 1 in the esophagus. Hook was imbedded in the esophagus. Dr. Barron made an incision in the ventral side of the neck and removed the hook through the incision. Currently on antibiotics and wound care.
