By The Sea Lecture Series

Join us after hours for a lecture series featuring local scientists, conservationists, and photographers with brews!

Unwrap The Waves

Loggerhead Marinelife Center's Unwrap the Wave Initiative allows for students and community members to get into the "spirit" of conservation by collecting their candy wrappers from Halloween and recycling them.

By the Sea Lecture Series

Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) is pairing science and craft beers to bring people together with the By the Sea Lecture Series. Every month LMC will host an after-hours 21+ event that features local scientists, conservationists, and photographers! The $12 registration includes one beer ticket and access to the Center’s Sky Deck, with all proceeds directly benefiting LMC’s mission.

Join us on Wednesday, November 16 at 5:30 pm for “The Return of Florida’s Great Goliath Grouper – New Opportunities and Challenges” presented by Matt Ajemian, Ph.D., FAU Harbor Branch, and Angela Collins, Ph.D., Florida Sea Grant.

As Florida’s largest reef fish (weighing up to 800 pounds), the goliath grouper is certainly great. Once fished to the brink of extinction, hear the story of how this species is once again common along many of Florida’s reefs.

This lecture series is the perfect way to break up the week and learn about some of our county’s amazing scientists. Don’t forget to pre-register for this event, last month was sold-out multiple days prior!
