LMC Blue Volunteer of the Year Recipient:

This year is also our first recognizing the prior year’s Volunteer of the Year award. So far this year volunteers have worked over 400,000 hours for Loggerhead Marinelife Center. This volunteer staff is dedicated and passionate about the work we do and are incredible educators bringing our mission to our guests every single day. The type of one-on-one engagement our volunteers provide would be the envy of all of the aquariums I have worked and the animal care and operations volunteers help us do the critical work we do each day. Each year a volunteer of the year is elected among the group.

Tammy

Tammy Tauscher - Juno Beach, Florida

Tammy is a phenomenal volunteer here at Loggerhead Marinelife Center, where she has been an extremely active volunteer since her start in 2017. Her normal day here at LMC is a very full day, she starts her day with Hospital Interpretation sharing with all our guests about our sea turtle patients. In the afternoon she is a part of our Animal Care team where she provides assistance in the treatment and care of our turtles as well as our resident animals. Tammy also assists with some of our other programming such as Turtle Walks and Sunrise Nest Excavation during nesting season. She is also an active member of our Volunteer Advisory Committee. She is a joy to work with and has so much passion for what she does here at LMC.
