What prompted the refurbishment/construction on The Pier?
Routine inspections identified the need for upgrades. Addressing it now ensures the pier remains safe and operational for years to come.

Will the entire pier close?
No. The project is phased specifically to avoid a full closure whenever possible.

Is this going to take longer than expected?
The current estimate is about six months. We’ll continue to provide updates as the project progresses.

Why close parts of the pier?
For safety. Active construction zones can’t safely accommodate visitors, but we’ve structured the project in phases to minimize closures.

Will construction affect any of the marine life present at or around the pier?
The refurbishments to the pier will be carried out in compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and best management practices. Measures such as timing restrictions, noise minimization, turbidity controls, and ongoing monitoring will be implemented to reduce and mitigate potential effects.
