Eva Cwynar, PhD

In her 17 years of educational experience, Dr. Cwynar has served as a 9-12 Science teacher, District STEM Curriculum Specialist, and Director of Teaching and Learning. With a specialization in STEM education, interdisciplinary learning, and Problem-Based Learning, she strives to foster an understanding of the connections among student-centered learning practices and the incorporation of local and global contexts to ground learning in its real-world application. After developing partnerships among our local community educational leaders and natural resource centers, Dr. Cwynar supports teachers and school-based leaders in creating educational environments that immerse students in local issues that impact the community, foster connections to our local STEM industry leaders that solve problems or generate solutions related to standards-based content, and develop connections to STEM careers.
