
Juno Beach, Fla. (September 16, 2025) ─ “Shell-ebrate” fall with Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s (LMC) array of seasonal, immersive programs. Starting in October, adults and children can engage in fun experiences that range from exciting, outdoor activities to ocean-themed arts and crafts. Through its programs, LMC aims to educate the community about the importance of sea turtle rehabilitation and ocean conservation.
The Center’s seasonal activities include:
Early Access Tours – Enjoy an exclusive, one-hour tour of LMC before opening hours. Explore the Center’s sea turtle patients and outdoor hospital, while gaining a deeper understanding of the turtles’ journeys from their rescue and diagnosis to rehabilitation and release. Starts October 1. (Tuesdays-Saturdays at 9 a.m.; $25; age 8 and older.)
Jr. Veterinary Lab ─ Using green sea turtle replicas, kids will become “certified” junior veterinarians, while learning about the care provided to endangered sea turtles. The Center’s sea turtle rehabilitation team will work alongside kids to showcase the care provided to endangered sea turtles. Starts October 4. (Saturdays and Sundays at 3:30 p.m.; $5 per child; ages 6 to 10.)
Hatchling Tales Story Time –Let the little onesdive into a sea of imagination!LMC’s 30-minute program includes an ocean-inspired story time and a themed drawing activity. A new story will be selected each week. Starts October 1. (Sundays and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.; free; age 5 and younger.)
Juno Dunes Natural Area Hike ─ Led by one of the Center’s experienced naturalists, explore the great outdoors with a 45-minute hike into the coastal hammock habitat next to LMC. The excursion teaches guests about the importance of South Florida’s coastal ecosystems and helps them identify plants and animals. The hike ends with a scenic view of the Atlantic Ocean. Starts October 31 with a special Halloween-themed hike. (Fridays at 10:30 a.m.; free; all age.)
Kids Fishing Program – Grab your fishing rod and join LMC for a kids’ fishing clinic. At the Juno Beach Pier, kids will learn basic techniques for fishing, including knot tying, casting, fish handling, and proper catch-and-release methods. All fishing bait and equipment will be provided by the Center and is generously supported by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County. Starts October 2. (Alternating Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m.; $10 per child; ages 10 to 14.)
Living Beaches – Dive deeper into the world of South Florida’s local marine life and seashells. The program provides a hands-on learning session where guests will participate in a brief discussion on South Florida’s beach habitat before exploring the shores. Starts October 6. (Mondays at 10:30 a.m.; free; age 8 and older.)
Sensory Saturdays – Once a month, adults and children with sensory sensitivities can explore the Center’s outdoor hospital and indoor exhibits with minimal crowds, reduced lighting, and sound. Sensory stations will be available throughout LMC, offering sensory bags, bottles, and bins to explore! (First Saturday of the month at 9 a.m.; free; all ages.)
Little Naturalist –Bring out your child’s inner naturalist! This early learning program takes children through a local nature trail to explore the different sights, sounds, textures, and colors of the wild.This 45-minute program incorporateshands-on activities andstories during an adventure along the trail. Starts October 2. (Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.; $5 per child; ages 2 to 5.)
By the Sea Lecture Series ─ Join LMC after hours for its year-round lecture series, featuring local scientists, conservationists, and photographers, and includes some local brews. Each event ticket includes one beverage ticket and access to the Center’s Sky Deck. The lecture series is presented by Bank of America and sponsored by Sailfish Brewing Company. (Third Wednesday of the month from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.; $20 per person; age 18 and older.)
