Day 1

Unintentional Boater Impacts

Dive in with Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s biologist, Casey, as we discover the impacts of unintentional boating injuries with sea turtles. Tag along as we meet Galapagos, an adult green male sea turtle patient currently being treated in The Sea Turtle Hospital at LMC for unintentional boater impact.

Water Quality

Put your lab coats on as we explore the chemical, physical, and biological characteristics of water with Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s biologist, Lindsay! Discover the importance of good water quality and why certain conditions are necessary in order to keep a healthy ocean ecosystem. Tune in as we use our test kit to conduct water quality monitoring of a local aquatic ecosystem.

Day 3

Nebulization

Join us in the Virtual Coastal Classroom as we discuss how lung infections like pneumonia affect sea turtles and observe our sea turtle patient, Annie Beau, receiving her treatment. Using unique "turtle-approved" and innovative techniques, our veterinarians administer medication for these types of infections using a nebulizer -- and you will find out how.

Sea Turtle 101

Welcome to Sea Turtles 101! Do you want to learn more about the basics of sea turtle biology? You’re in luck! Our marine biologist educator Enya will be walking you through our Exhibit Hall and talking to you about each of the sea turtle species we see here in South Florida, as well as answering some of the most frequently asked questions we get here at LMC!

Living Beaches

Welcome to the Living Beaches Program at Loggerhead Marinelife Center! Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s biologist educator Enya will be conducting a seaside excursion to discover the origins of southeast Florida seashells and other beachcombing finds. During this program, Enya will talk about how beaches form, the many animals that call the beach home, teach guests about the living components of our beaches, and help identify beachcombing finds.
