This field trip allows for early learners to jump into the world of veterinary science alongside our dear friend, Dr. Logger!
Please Note: Students must already be in Kindergarten to experience Turtle Tots.
Duration
1 Hour
About
Students will discuss basic defining characteristics of sea turtles and the key role that this animal plays in our oceans. Students will participate in a “rescue to release” simulation with their very own model sea turtle to learn about our treatment techniques and record keeping.
Please Note: Field Trips are 1-hour educator-led lessons held in a classroom or laboratory setting. All lessons are aligned to Florida’s State Academic Standards for Science. Exploration of our expanded campus including the BRAND-NEW indoor One Ocean Hall, outdoor Ecosystem Tanks, and the Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital are self-guided extensions of our field trip programs. Please plan your trip accordingly to account for extra exploration time!
If you have more students than the registration capacity, please book a second session. There are two offered per day.
Minimum 10 students required.
We require there be 1 chaperone/teacher to every 10 students. There will be a fee of $100 associated the day of the field trip if there is not the proper amount of chaperones/teachers per students.
ATTENTION TITLE 1 SCHOOLS
If you are reserving a Field Trip, Virtual Field Trip, or School Outreach program for a Title 1 school or organization and would like to request Title 1 grant funds through our Oceans of Opportunity initiative, please do not proceed and contact a member of the Guest Services Team.
