Dr. Paul Brown discusses all things sea turtle at LMC’s Science for Seniors program

Seniors, come out of your shells! Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s annual Science for Seniors lecture series kicks off Jan. 9, featuring brand new topics about health, wellness and a little sea turtle science.

The free weekly program covers unique topics in a four-part series on Tuesdays from 2-3 p.m. through May. It is hosted by Dr. Paul Brown, a Harvard/Tufts educated pathologist who transformed the field of laboratory medicine by founding MetPath, now known as Quest Diagnostics.

Topics include:

  • Balance
  • Sea turtle instincts
  • How to prevent falling
  • Sea turtle injuries
  • And more!

Guests who attend all four sessions will receive a graduation gift and enjoy an exclusive tour of the Sea Turtle Hospital at LMC. In conjunction with Florida Atlantic University, guests who “graduate” will also receive a certificate for free attendance to one Lifelong Learning class at FAU.

Community members, groups and clubs are invited to visit LMC for this unique program. LMC can accommodate large groups or work with activity and program directors to offer Science for Seniors to their members or residents.

LMC’s gift store also offers a 10 percent discount to seniors every Tuesday.

For more information, please contact Hannah Campbell, LMC’s environmental programs manager, at [email protected] or call (561) 627-8280 ext. 105. Please RSVP as space is limited.
