Sadie Hawkins is an adult hawksbill transferred by Coastal Stewards at Gumbo Limbo. She was found entangled in fishing line. Coelomic cavity contains excess air and fluid causing buoyancy issues. Current treatment is antibiotics and coelomic taps two-three times a week.

Dr. Barron used endoscope to explore the wound. It appears the coelomic lining has detached from the bone but seems intact creating a pocket holding water. Due to the extent of the wound, Dr. Emily removed bone from the cranial aspect to allow access for wound debridement. Placed on wound vac through the weekend.

Infection involves the coelomic lining and coelomic cavity. Bandages and wound vac have not been able to prevent water from entering the body cavities. The current treatment is wound vac therapy antibiotics.
