Issue: Unintentional Boat Strike
Bunny is a juvenile loggerhead sea turtle patient that was found unintentionally hit by a boat near the Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge. The turtle has propeller strike injuries to its head and cranial carapace. The wounds will be treated topically with honey and therapeutic laser. Bunny will receive antibiotics and be closely monitored by hospital staff as the boat strike injuries are treated.
Patient requires continued treatment but is progressing well.
Minor adjustments have been made to the patient's treatment.
Patient is off all medications.

09/04/2020 - Bunny is progressing well and is near being medically cleared for release. The carapacial wounds have healed very nicely and the turtle has been off all medications for two weeks.
08/13/2020 -Bunny's white cell count has normalized and the turtle is making steady progress.
08/06/2020 -Bunny's white cell count is decreasing under the new treatment protocol and the turtle is making good progress.
07/30/2020 -Bunny's white cell count increased and a new medication was added to the treatment plan.
07/23/2020 -Bunny's white cell count increased and the turtle was started on a new treatment protocol.
07/16/2020 -Bunny's white cell count went back up, so the turtle has been put back on antibiotics.
07/09/2020 -Bunny’s wounds are healing well and the turtle remains off all medications and is progressing nicely. She will likely be released shortly.
