ADMISSION NOTE:

Caitlin is a large sub-adult green sea turtle patient that appeared to be lethargic at intake and has an old healed injury to the caudal carapace. Preliminary diagnostics seem to be normal or within normal range. Additional diagnostics will be done to help determine the cause of the lethargy.

PROGRESS KEY:

This turtle is progressing well and responding to therapy as desired.

There is a minor issue that we are working to resolve.

PROGRESS NOTES:

11/14/2018 -  Caitlin appears to be about ready for release

11/07/2018 - Caitlin is doing well and off of medications.

10/24/2018 -  White cell count is back down within normal limits. Will be taken off antibiotics again soon.

10/17/2018 -  Caitlin's white cell count went back up, so the turtle is now back on antibiotics.

09/26/2018 -  Caitlin's white cell count is remaining normal while off medications.

09/19/2018 -

09/13/2018 -  Caitlin is on track for release.

09/05/2018 -

08/29/2018 -  Caitlin's white cell count has finally been normal and the turtle was taken off all antibiotics this week.

08/10/2018 -  Caitlin's white cell count has come down dramatically with the treatment change.

07/29/2018 -  Testing has indicated that the turtle has been exposed to an algal toxin. The turtle seems to be improving rapidly and was tagged this week.

07/18/2018 -

07/11/2018 -  Carapace infection seems to be responding well to treatment. Turtle is eating well and gaining weight. The turtle has been started on oral antibiotics.

07/04/2018 -  Turtle has an invasive infection on the caudal carapace. A culture was taken and a new topical treatment was started.
