Issue: Intestinal Buoyancy

Coley is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found washed ashore on Jupiter Island in Hobe Sound. Radiographs taken upon arrival show that the patient is constipated and has a lot of gas inside its gastrointestinal tract. The buildup of gas is most likely due to an intestinal infection. The turtle also has a lesion on its right rear flipper that will be treated topically. Coley will receive antibiotics and be monitored closely as we treat its buoyancy disorder.
