ADMISSION NOTE:

Deedee is a juvenile green sea turtle that was found washed onto the beach on Singer Island. The turtle has trauma of an unknown origin to the neck and plastron that had become infected. The bloodwork was consistent with having an infection but did not indicate any other abnormalities. Deedee is also floating in the tank. The cause of the floatation is not known at this time. There is no evidence of spinal trauma or air in the coelomic cavity or intestines that would cause the floatation. Deedee’s wounds are being flushed three times a day, and the turtle is receiving fluids and antibiotics.
