Eau-tis is named for Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. With a name like Eau (pronounced O - French for water) and the Atlantic on their door step, Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa is committed to ocean conservation and has dedicated their support to further LMC's mission.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Eau Palm Beach replaced all of their plastic straws with environmentally friendly paper straws at their beachfront restaurants?

ADMISSION NOTE:

Eau-tis (O-tis) is a sub-adult loggerhead that was found in the waterway behind a private home in Jupiter. The initial bloodwork showed anemia, hypoglycemia and overall poor health due to starvation. Hospital staff administrated fluids, antibiotics and iron. Eau-tis was put into freshwater to remove the barnacles and abundant leeches that covered the turtle's body. We will continue to monitor blood-work closely as we treat Eau-tis.

 

PROGRESS KEY:

 This turtle is progressing well and responding to therapy as desired.

There is a minor issue that we are working to resolve.

08/14/2018 - Eau-tis was successfully released from the beach in front of Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. Esu-tis was outfitted with a satellite transmitter and be tracked here >>

06/27/2018 - The abscess on Eau-tis' carapace seems to be healing well.

05/30/2018 -  Minor surgery was done to expose abscess on carapace and it is now doing better. Eau-tus was tagged for eventual release.

05/02/2018 -  We surgically opened two abscess on the carapace that are being treated topically.

04/26/2018 - Eau-tis\' anemia continues to resolve and white count remains normal. Small abscess on carapace is slowly healing.

03/29/2018 -  Eau-tis\' anemia continues to resolve.

03/22/2018 -  The abscess seems to be healing.

03/14/2018 -  An abscess was found on the front edge of the carapace that is now being treated topically.

03/01/2018 -  Eau-tis continues to do well.

02/23/2018 -  Eautis' anemia is resolved well enough that parasitic treatments have been started.

01/31/2018 -  Eau-tis' white cell count has been within normal limits the last few weeks. The turtle is now off all anitbiotics.

12/27/2017 -  Eau-tis continues to improve. The turtle has been moved to a tank with deeper water.

12/20/2017 -

12/13/2017 -  Eau-tis is now off parenteral nutrition. The anemia is resolving well.

12/07/2017 -  Eau-tis' packed cell volume is increasing, indicating a very good bone marrow response.

11/29/2017 -  Eau-tis continues to receive parenteral nutrition. The bone marrow has begun to respond to treatment.

11/22/2017 -  Eau-tis continues to receive parenteral nutrition and the appetite is improving.

11/15/2017 -  Eau-tis is receiving parenteral nutrition and is beginning to eat small amounts of food.
