Issue: Gastrointestinal disorder, externally hooked

Galvez is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was unintentionally hooked near the Juno Beach Pier. The turtle also arrived with a gastrointestinal issue. Galvez will receive treatment and be closely monitored by hospital staff with routine bloodwork. Galvez was named by the students of Oppe Elementary Campus of Coastal Studies located in Galveston, Texas. These students won first place in our 2020 Unwrap the Waves competition by collecting more than 9,000 candy wrappers to be fully recycled.
