Issue: Unintentional Boat Strike, Buoyancy Issue

Gumby is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found floating in the Intracoastal Waterway in Juno Beach. The turtle has old trauma to its carapace from an unintentional boat strike. Radiographs also revealed a large amount of gas in the turtle’s intestines. Gumby will receive fluids and antibiotics, and will be closely monitored by hospital staff as the buoyancy disorder is treated.

Patient requires continued treatment but is progressing well.
