Named in honor of artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer, Dr. Guy Harvey, friend of Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

LMC was excited to partner with the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation and Bealls for a meet, greet and giveback event at the Bealls Jupiter Store that took place on Saturday, March 17th benefiting LMC. For the two weeks prior to the event Bealls donated $1 to LMC for each Guy Harvey item sold in the Jupiter Bealls store and the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation matched this donation. On the day of the event, Guy Harvey met with guests at the store to sign autographs. It was a great day of ocean conservation celebration benefiting LMC!

ADMISSION NOTE:

Guy Harvey is a sub-adult loggerhead that was found floating in the surf off the shore of Palm Beach Island. The initial bloodwork showed anemia and overall poor health due to starvation. Hospital staff administered fluids, antibiotics, iron, and vitamins. Guy Harvey was also started on once daily parenteral nutrition supplementation’s. The turtle was put into freshwater to remove epibiota. We will continue to monitor bloodwork closely as we treat Guy Harvey.
