Issue: Washback

Hendricks is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found washed ashore in Jensen Beach. The turtle is a washback, which is a sea turtle in the pelagic stage that lives offshore in the floating sargassum seaweed, but has washed back ashore. Hendricks will receive treatment and be closely monitored by hospital staff with routine bloodwork.
