ADMISSION NOTE:

Jager is juvenile loggerhead sea turtle that was found in Jupiter. This turtle is considered a washback. A washback is a sea turtle in pelagic stage that lives offshore in the floating sargassum seaweed, and has been blown back onto the beach, usually by strong winds or storms. Washbacks are considered patients and have their own medical record. 

PROGRESS KEY:

This turtle is progressing well and responding to therapy as desired.

There is a minor issue that we are working to resolve.

PROGRESS NOTES:

04/06/2018 – Jager was released off shore on April 3 as a juvenile!

03/29/2018 –  Jager continues to improve and may be ready for release soon.

03/01/2018 –  Jager’s white cell count remains elevated and the treatment will continue.

02/23/2018 –  Jager’s appetite has returned and the turtle is eating well.

02/14/2018 –  Due to decreasing appetite the turtle has been started on antibiotic treatment.
