James IV is a juvenile loggerhead sea turtle patient that was hooked by a recreational fisherman at the Juno Beach Pier. The hook in the mouth was removed upon arrival. The turtle also arrived with its carapace, plastron, and soft tissue densely covered in barnacles, which is an indication of debilitation. James IV also has wounds on its head from an unknown trauma. Hospital staff will closely monitor the turtle\'s bloodwork as we treat with antibiotics.
PROGRESS KEY:
This turtle is progressing well and responding to therapy as desired.
There is a minor issue that we are working to resolve.

06/27/2019 -James IV was released 6/27/2019!
06/20/2019 -James IV\'s anemia is resolved and we are hopeful it can be released soon.
06/13/2019 -James IV is doing well off medication and anemia is within 3% of being resolved.
06/06/2019 -James IV was taken off all antibiotics this week.
05/30/2019 -James IV was tagged this week for eventual release.
05/23/2019 -James IV\'s anemia is almost resolved.
05/16/2019 -James IV's white count is remaining normal.
05/09/2019 -James IV's white count is back down to normal.
05/05/2019 -James IV's white count has gone up, so a new treatment regimen has been started.
04/25/2019 -James IV continues to do very well.
04/17/2019 -James IV is improving rapidly. Appetite is excellent.
