Arrival Date
: March 27, 2019
Stranding Location: Jensen Beach, FL

Initial Weight
: 7.92 lbs.
Current Weight: 8.76 lbs.

Issue: Debilitated

Kaimana is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found in the St. Lucie Power Plant Intake Canal with a heavy epibiota load on its carapace. The turtle is underweight, lethargic, and in poor health overall due to being debilitated. Kaimana also has wounds on its carapace, most likely from the heavy epibiota load, that will be treated topically and withbetadine, honey, and therapeutic laser. We will monitor Kaimana\'s bloodwork closely as we treat with antibiotics.
