Lilo is a juvenile green sea turtle that stranded in Hobe Sound. When the turtle arrived, it was displaying nuerological symptoms that may be associated with toxin ingestion. The symptoms quickly subsided with treatment. Lilo is eating well and has been placed on antibiotics.

10/26/2015 – Lilo was released off the beach at Coral Cove Park on Monday October 12!

10/8/2015 – Lilo has been cleared for release. The release will be private and will happen as soon as the ocean has calmed from the passing hurricane.

9/7/2015 – A number of our juvenile green sea turtles have an elevated lymphocyte count (one type of white blood cell). Other facilities are having similar issues with their juvenile greens. We are collaborating with those facilities to resolve the issue.

8/7/2015 – Despite Lilo’s increased appetite, weight gain, and overall body condition, the white cell count has spiked. The treatment plan was evaluated and changed accordingly.

7/6/2015 – Lilo has been eating very well is improving rapidly.
