Issue: Systemic Infection

Mark is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found washed ashore in Juno Beach. Bloodwork taken upon arrival revealed evidence of a systemic infection and the turtle has superficial trauma to its carapace, plastron, and right front flipper. Mark’s wounds will be treated topically with betadine and the turtle will receive antibiotics as it is closely monitored by hospital staff.

PROGRESS KEY:

This turtle is progressing well and responding to therapy as desired.

There is a minor issue that we are working to resolve.

04/28/2020 -Mark has been taken off all medication and released on Earth Day!

04/17/2020 -Mark's treatment has been reduced to one medication.

04/09/2020 -Mark's treatment has been reduced to one medication.

03/26/2020 -Mark's white cell count is now down to normal.

03/19/2020 -Mark's white cell count is decreasing with the new treatment regimen.

03/12/2020 - Mark's white cell count began to increase so the treatment regimen was changed.
