ADMISSION NOTE:

Moana was found floating near inlet in Ft. Pierce by the US Coast Guard following the passage of Hurricane Irma. The turtle had some minor abrasions on its head, carapace, and plastron. Initial bloodwork indicated that the turtle had an elevated white cell count and the turtle was started on antibiotics. When placed in the water, the turtle was able to dive without any difficulty. The turtle’s condition is being monitored closely.

10/25/2017 – Sea_turtle_icon(green) Moana’s white cell count is within normal range. The turtle was tagged this week. Antibiotics have been reduced and will be discontinued if the bloodwork continues to be within normal limits.
