Issue: Chronic debilitation

Nightingale is a large juvenile loggerhead, smaller than our average loggerhead turtle that came to us from FPL's St. Lucie site. It is affected with chronic debilitation and is consequently very anemic. The turtle was covered in barnacles and leeches and was placed in fresh water for about 24 hours and is now in sea water. The turtle is being placed onparenteral nutrition, to help speed its recovery, as well as antibiotics and fluids. Nightingale is named in honor of our frontline heroes and FlorenceNightingale, founder of modern nursing.
