Issue: Trauma

Orzo is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found at FPL’s St. Lucie site. The turtle has trauma to its cranial carapace that will be treated topically with betadine, honey, and therapeutic laser. Orzo will receive antibiotics and be closely monitored by hospital staff as its injury is treated.

11/01/2020 -Orzo’s traumatic wound is healing nicely and the turtle continues to make excellent progress. Orzo does not require surgical debridements or systemic treatment any longer. Its prognosis remains excellent.
