Issue: Entanglement

Pippin is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found entangled in fishing line in the Intracoastal Waterway in West Palm Beach. Pippin had monofilament fishing line around the left front flipper and the line extended into the mouth. Pippin will receive treatment and be closely monitored by hospital staff with routine diagnostics.

12/13/2021 - Pippin was successfully released from Juno Beach on December 10th.

12/06/2021 - Pippin’s left front flipper has healed well and the turtle is off all medications. Pippin has been cleared for release in the near future.

11/08/2021 - Pippin’s left front flipper is making good progress. The turtle is receiving therapeutic laser and topical treatments daily. Pippin has good mobility in the damaged flipper, and was moved into deeper water this week.
