Poppins

Species: Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas)

Arrival Date
: January 12, 2018
Stranding Location: Hobe Sound, FL

Initial Weight
: 13.5 lbs.
Current Weight: 13.99  lbs.

Issue: Intestinal Buoyancy

Poppins was found floating and unable to dive in the Instracoastal Waterway by a boater. Upon arrival, radiographs and bloodwork were taken. The radiographs show that the patient is constipated and has a lot of gas inside its gastrointestinal tract. This is most likely due to an intestinal infection. Poppins is eating well, and will receive antibiotics and fluids to help with the intestinal issues.
