Current Condition: Improving
Pumpkin is a juvenile green sea turtle that was found near a dock on Palm Beach Island. The turtle was found entangled in a net and has a constriction injury to its left front flipper. We will monitor the turtle as we treat the wound appropriately.
This turtle is progressing well and responding to therapy as desired.
There is a minor issue that we are working to resolve.

03/30/2017 –Pumpkin was released on Tuesday, March 28th.
03/22/2017 –Has been cleared for release.
03/15/2017 –Has been taken off all antibiotics.
03/08/2017 –The blood results have been within normal limits and we are considered discontinuing antibiotics.
03/01/2017 –Pumpkin was tagged for eventual release.
02/08/2017 – Pumpkin continues to improve gradually.
01/12/2017 – Pumpkin continues to eat well.
01/04/2017 – Pumpkin is now eating aggressively. Tube feedings have been discontinued.
12/21/2016 – Tube feeding is going very well, but turtle is still not eating on its own.
12/14/2016 – A contrast radiology study was done. We have also started tube feeding because Pumpkin is too active to parenteral nutrition.
12/09/2016 – Pumpkin is still not eating well. Radiographs are being done over the next few days to determine if there is an internal problem.
11/30/2016 – Pumpkin is still not eating well. We are making gel-diets to entice the turtle to eat more.
11/23/2016 – Pumpkin is still not eating well.
11/10/2016 – Turtle is doing well except that it has not yet begun to eat. Medication is being given to stimulate the turtle’s appetite. Turtle continues to receive antibiotics and wound treatment.
