ADMISSION NOTE:

Reilly is a small sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle that was found in the St. Lucie Power Plant Intake Canal. The turtle has numerous barnacles covering the shell and flippers. Reilly is chronic debilitated and is anemic and slightly hypoglycemic. Antibiotics, iron supplementation, parenteral nutrition, and fluid treatments have been initiated.

PROGRESS KEY:

 This turtle is progressing well and responding to therapy as desired.

There is a minor issue that we are working to resolve.

PROGRESS NOTES:

02/16/2016 – Reilly was released from Loggerhead Park on February 14th.

02/08/2016 – Reilly has been approved for release.

01/25/2016 –

01/12/2016 – The anemia is almost resolved. The turtle has received two antiparasitic treatments.

12/09/2016 – Most of Reilly’s bloodwork is approaching normal limits. The anemia has resolved well enough that we will be treating for internal parasites.

11/10/2016 – Reilly is doing well off of parenteral nutrition and is beginning to gain weight. Treatments are being continued.

11/02/2016 – Parenteral nutrition has been discontinued.

10/26/2016 – Parenteral nutrition has been reduced to once daily. The turtle is doing very well.

10/20/2016 – Reilly is continuing to receive parenteral nutrition and is starting to show an improved appetite.
