Rishin is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found at FPL’s Riviera Beach site. The turtle has trauma to its carapace and plastron that will be treated topically. Radiographs also revealed a large amount of gas in the turtle’s intestines. Rishin will receive systemic medications and fluids, and will be closely monitored by hospital staff as its wounds and the buoyancy disorder are treated.
The turtle requires continued treatment but is progressing well.
Minor adjustments have been made to the turtle's treatment.
The turtle is off all medications.
02/01/2021 -Rishin has made very good progress over the past month, the turtle’s buoyancy disorder is nearly resolved and the trauma is responding well to therapy. Rishin’s prognosis remains excellent.
