Issue: Unintentional fish hook

Rob is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was unintentionally hooked by a recreational fisherman at Dubois Park in Jupiter. The hook was removed from the turtle’s esophagus upon arrival. Radiographs also revealed a large amount of gas in the turtle’s intestines. Rob will receive fluids and antibiotics, and will be closely monitored by hospital staff as it is being treated. This turtle was a past LMC patient that originally arrived July 19, 2019 with a hook embedded in its right front flipper. The turtle was otherwise healthy and was released a few days later.
