Issue: Gastrointestinal Issue
Sammy is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found stranded in the Loxahatchee River in Jupiter. Radiographs taken upon arrival revealed a large amount of feces in the turtle’s intestines. Sammy with receive antibiotics and be monitored closely as the gastrointestinal issue is treated.
This turtle is progressing well and responding to therapy as desired.
There is a minor issue that we are working to resolve.

03/05/2020 -Sammy was released on March 5 from Loggerhead Park
02/27/2020 -Sammy appears to be almost ready for release.
02/20/2020 -Sammy was taken off all medication this week.
02/13/2020 -Sammy’s white cell count remained normal this week, so medication may be discontinued next week.
02/06/2020 -Sammy’s white cell count is back to normal.
01/30/2020 -Sammy's treatment regimen has been readjusted.
01/23/2020 -Sammy appears to be responding well to treatment and the white cell count is improving.
