Stranding Location: Hobe Sound, FL

Initial Weight: 5.6 lbs.
Current Weight: 8.3 lbs.

Issue: Buoyancy Disorder, Trauma

Tinsel is a juvenile green sea turtle patient that was found floating in the Intracoastal Waterway in Hobe Sound. The turtle has trauma to its cranial carapace that will be treated topically. Radiographs also revealed a large amount of gas in the turtle’s intestines. Tinsel will receive system medications and fluids, and will be closely monitored by hospital staff as its wound and the buoyancy disorder are treated.
