About Tracking Lynn

Species:

Leatherback

Lynn is a neophyte (i.e. first time nester) leatherback that was satellite tagged at 4:45 am on April 18, 2023 in Juno Beach. Lynn was “small” in size for one of these ocean giants, with a shell length of 55 inches and an estimated mass of 600 lbs. Lynn had some healed injuries to her left shoulder and right hind limb, suggesting interactions with fishing gear and a shark. Support for Lynn’s tracker was provided by The Sambol Family.
