Admission Note:

Treble is a sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle that was hooked at the Juno Beach Pier. Radiographs revealed a jay hook in the mouth and a small treble hook in the lower esophagus. The jay hook in the mouth was successfully removed. Surgery was performed to remove the deeply embedded treble hook but was not able to remove it. We will be monitoring the turtle to see if the hook will pass on its own. The turtle was dry docked for several days in the hospital to allow the incision to heal. Once the turtle was placed it water, it started eating right away. Treble started receiving fluids and antibiotics as prescribed by the veterinarian.
