World Ocean Month Digital Art Poster Contest

Description: Pencil, acrylic paint, and gouache paint on canvas. This painting made me feel connected to my grandpa who is no longer with us; he inspires me every day with my art as he was an artist I look up to. Humpback whales as seen in the painting are highly migratory varying across the world and are all about staying together as a family. The relationship portrayed between mother and calf spoke to me because it shows such a graceful bond. This art will inspire ocean conservation because we need to think that whales as well as other marine life have just as many feelings and right to live as we do. Whales and other marine life have a voice only they can understand, but if we listen closely we can feel their pain or hopefully joy and help them!
