Amelie is an adult Kemp’s ridley sea turtle found by Inwater Research group with predator wounds. The right front flipper will need to be surgically debrided. Current treatment is antibiotics and wound care.

Amelie’s pneumonia has resolved. She is cleared for release. The sudden change in her status is due to her amputation site healing more quickly than most of our other adult turtles with the same type of injury. She was also not eating, and coupled with the assumed long-term care did not bode well.
