Loggerhead Marinelife Center's Digital Reef is an immersive, virtual ecosystem where visitors can explore our most prominent native Atlantic species, learn about their role in ocean ecosystems and play using color, texture and adaptations to imagine their own sea creature! These animals don’t just exist in this digital world, they live and thrive in it. A major focus of this experience is the unique animal behaviors and interactions which are driven by custom, nature-inspired algorithms.

Visitors are encouraged to create an array of three dimensional sea creatures through a touch screen coloring application, providing a creative and intuitive experience. The finished aquatic animal is sent from the coloring application to the Digital Reef where it joins other unique animals created by guests! With unique visitor-generated content combined with their custom behavioral animation, no two experiences will be the same at the Digital Reef.
