Having trouble thinking of what to get your friends or loved ones this year? Want to give something unique, but can’t find the perfect item? Consider gifting an experience instead!
Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) has over 35 distinct programs for turtle-lovers of all ages, and all of them, including birthday parties, tours and eco-programming are available to give as gift.
“By giving an experience this year, you’re also helping someone make memories – which is a pretty powerful thing that can last a lifetime,” said Hannah Campbell, associate director of education at LMC.
From Winter Break Camp, to the Kid’s Fishing Program, to SWIM Weekend, and more, it is not too late to sign up! Here are just a few options:
Winter Break Camp
Give the gift of learning! Students can follow in the footsteps of marine biologists at Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Winter Seasonal Camps. Register your aspiring scientists to follow in the footsteps of our marine biologist staff members as they learn the journey of our sea turtle patients through their recovery and what conservation tools they can employ to make sure no sea turtles get injured on their watch! All seasonal camp days correspond with The School District of Palm Beach County School Calendar 2018 – 2019.
Kid’s Fishing Program at the Juno Beach Pier
Give the gift of responsible angling techniques and specialized fishing lesson to children ages 8+ on the iconic Juno Beach Pier. In the Kid’s Fishing Program, young anglers will learn knot tying techniques, casting & baiting, fish regulations and sea turtle-friendly practices while enjoying the thrill of catch and release fishing.
SWIM Winter Weekend
Give the gift of a SWIM (Serving the World’s Imperiled Marine Life) Winter Weekend adventure! SWIM Juno Beach from Dec. 28 – 30, 2018. It is the perfect weekend getaway from the cold and a meaningful experience that benefits our oceans!
