ArtSEA Kids Paint Class

ArtSEA Kids Paint Class is back at LMC! During this program, children will paint their own ceramic ocean friend to take home with them and then participate in a story time with an ocean-conservation theme. This program is hosted outdoors, under the canopy on our back deck, so please come dressed for the weather! Register for your desired date on our calendar.

Jr. Veterinarian Lab

Junior Veterinarian Lab accommodates up to 4 children in a 30 minute program, educating children on the process of sea turtle rescue to release. The Jr. Vets come to the aid of a green sea turtle replica and learn about common injuries and illnesses that affect these endangered animals. Register for your desired date on the calendar.

Hammock Hikes

Led by one of our experienced biologists, the Hammock Hike is a 45-minute outdoor excursion into the coastal hammock habitat adjacent to Loggerhead Marinelife Center. The program will talk about the importance of these coastal ecosystems, engage guests with plant and animal identification, and end with a scenic view of the Atlantic Ocean. Please note: this is an entirely outdoor, walking program. In partnership with PBC Environmental Resources Management (ERM), LMC has adopted the Juno Dune Natural Area.

Kids Fishing Program

Participants will learn basic techniques for fishing from a fishing pier including knot tying, casting, fish handling, and proper catch-and-release techniques. In addition to fishing skills, participants will learn to be ethical anglers and discover how to reduce their impact on marine life including sea turtles and shore birds! Fish caught during this program will always be released. All fishing equipment and bait is provided, please see details during registration for recommended items to bring. Advance registration required, walk-ins are not accepted. Masks are required to be worn by ALL guests attending
and/or participating in this program.

Time: Saturdays from 9:45 a.m. - 12 p.m.


Hatchling Tales

Our Hatchling Tales program is geared towards toddlers with a natural curiosity for marine life and sea turtles. In this free, ocean-inspired program, children will enjoy an ocean-themed story coupled with a themed craft to create and take home. This program is designed to cater to young families in the community by offering a new story and craft each session, encouraging frequent visits and support. Little Naturalists

Bring out your child’s inner naturalist in our NEW Little Naturalists early learning program! In this 30-minute program, children ages 2-5 years old will explore the different sights, sounds, textures, and colors of nature through stories, activities, and an adventure into our local nature trail.

55 & Bolder: Health, Wellness & Science

55 & Bolder is a 1-hour program that covers topics that focus on human health along with sea turtle related topics. In partnership with St. Mary’s Medical Center, physicians and experienced staff will present on topics such as fall prevention, nutrition, emergencies, and more! Each session will end with an introduction into sea turtle medicine relating to the various topics. Science education for 55+ inspires curiosity and engagement, drawing connections to the natural world through lifelong learning. Every lecture provides attendees with an opportunity to learn about a new topic over the eight sessions. Enjoy food and beverages as well as 10% off in LMC’s Gift Store for seniors on 55 & Bolder days!
