Loggerhead Marinelife Center is now offering our new Coastal Explorers! program – a winter and spring break workshop geared towards children ages 10-13 years old. The Coastal Explorer Program will encompass a series of three weekend workshops geared towards aspiring scientists and children that have a natural curiosity for Florida outdoors.
Each workshop consists of two 4-hour sessions where participants will journey on a minimum of one field trip per day and receive hands-on experience in various geoscience and biology fields. Themes vary with each workshop to include the following:
Coastal Explorers: Sea Turtle Savers (Saturday and Sunday, February 27 & 28 – 9am to 1pm)
Coastal Explorers: Beach Scouts (Saturday and Sunday, March 5 & 6 – 9am to 1pm)
Upon the completion of the Coastal Explorers workshop, participants will receive a Coastal Explorer! certification from Loggerhead Marinelife Center and a Certificate of Authenticity to show off their merit. Program is now FREE with a submitted application for consideration. Application must be submitted electronically to hcampbell@marinelife.org by 2/19/16. Selected participants will be notified by 2/24/16.
