About Tracking Peach

Species:

Leatherback

Peach originally nested on Juno Beach on April 30, 2009 and has been seen on our local beaches 27 times since her original encounter 14 years ago. She was satellite tagged on April 26, 2023. Peach is our largest leatherback of the 2023 season, with a shell length of 63 inches and a mass of 950 lbs. Peach has a healed injury on her right shoulder (that can be seen in the photo) that is indicative of an interaction with a hook from fishing gear. Support for Peach’s tracker was provided by The American Wildlife Conservation Foundation.
